Gantry crane lift objects by a hoist which is fitted in a hoist trolley and can move horizontally on a rail or pair of rails fitted under a bean. The only other similar cranes are the bridge crane and the overhead crane. Gantry cranes can lift very heavy weighing objects with ease and minimum stress. One application of the Gantry cranes is for shipbuilding where the crane straddles the ship allowing massive objects like the ship’s engine to be installed into the ship. There exists a smaller version of gantry crane which is used in manufacturing jobs to move large parts into an out of specific location or between assembly or work station. While in large warehouses gantry cranes are used to move heavier and bulky materials. At time they are moved around the length of the working area. They have the capacity of almost four tons.

It should ideally be installed by qualified professionals and they should make sure that is working well after installing it.

It is always a good idea to buy a gantry crane due to several reasons however they are also available to rent for those who absolutely don’t wish to invest in one or those that require it only for a one off short usage. Getting a crane on rent has its advantages too. For one you pay less at the same time you are not responsible for the maintenance of the equipment either.
